From idea to enterprise: Innovating in healthcare

ADVANCED TRAINING COURSE Innovating in healthcare does not simply mean developing new technologies, but also knowing how to bring them to market, making them sustainable, accessible, and integrated into care pathways. This is the aim of “From Idea to Enterprise: Innovating in Healthcare”, the new advanced training course promoted by Fondazione Anthem in collaboration with the University of Bergamo, Politecnico di Milano (GSOM Business School), Humanitas University, Johns Hopkins University (Carey Business School), University of Milano-Bicocca and PerfeTTO, the Italian network of Technology Transfer offices in the life sciences sector.

Format: Hybrid (9 hours online and 21 hours in presence @ Fondazione Anthem, Bergamo)

Objective

The advanced training course “From Idea to Enterprise: Innovating in Healthcare”, promoted by the ANTHEM Foundation, is designed to develop advanced skills in innovation management, venture creation, and go-to-market strategies in the healthcare sector.

Course overview

An innovative program designed to leverage the opportunities offered by the integration of research, technology, and organization, fostering the development of innovative solutions in the healthcare sector.

  • 10 lectures – 30 hours over 5 weeks, delivered in hybrid format

  • Online lessons and talks, with speakers from the ANTHEM Foundation network
  • In-presence lectures and visits to healthcare service, innovation and research organizations
  • Specialized case studies
  • Faculty of experts from academia and industry
  • Opportunity to develop a final project, based on course assignment, supported by ANTHEM

Foundation’s industrial advisory board to apply the skills acquired.

Output

The assignments completed during the course allow for the development of a final project
applied to a case of interest, to be optionally carried out at the end of the course, addressing:

  1. Analysis of the need and the potential market
  2. Roadmap for business creation (timeline, costs, team, resources)
  3. Regulatory issues and intellectual property rights
  4. Identification of strategic partners (industrial, financial, clinical)

Skills acquired

At the end of the course, participants will have gained:

  • An entrepreneurial approach to healthcare innovation
  • In-depth knowledge of innovative entrepreneurship models, regulatory aspects (intellectual property protection and data management), and healthcare innovation ecosystems
  • Tools to transform ideas and technologies into concrete and effective solutions
